Hi.
Few weeks ago I asked some questions before buying Electro GS/GSN.
So, now I got it. Of cource from eBay, like a most of my toys ;) Camera is in almost like new condition. No scratches, no dings, no corrosion, "pad of death" is OK, meter works properly, focusing is very accurate. But... seems to be camera was not used long time and was stored in not very good place. Front element has some fungus. It can't be cleaned. Fungus is inside front element group. Now it's not affect a picture quality, but who knows what will be in near future. Moisture here in Lithuania is quite high. Of course I can buy another one GSN for parts, but who can guarantee a quality of this new one? You know, to talk about cleaning marks and fungus with people who are reselling their estate sales purchases is quite problematic. It's my second purchase from eBay which is infected by fungus. With this GSN everithing is OK, I bought it "as is" from person who are not a photographer. But first one was EL NIkkor enlarger lens bought from pro photographer (pro liar?) from California. Thanks God, this lens was cleaned and fungus not came back again.
Well, I heard about healing by UV rays. Some specialists believe it works, some not. I think the best way is just replace this infected part. I don't know why, but I believe some RFFers own few donor cameras and can help me. So, I hope I can:
1. buy front element group for few bucks from one of RFFers (payment via PayPal. can't imagine another way for cheap and quick international payment)
2. accept for free with gratitude ;))
3. exchange to another GSN parts from my donor camera (unfortunately my donor camera has scratched lens and I can't use it)
4. exchange to some FSU stuff which has same value like part I need. But in this case I can't guarantee nothing, because I only can try to buy something for you. FSU cameras and lenses is still available and cheap here, but really good things costs more.
Thanks in advance for your offers

can I suggest searching ebay for a cheap gsn or gs, maybe one for parts or one of those "I dont know if it works or not" auctions. I picked up a very clean gsn a few weeks ago for 16 bucks that way

yes, Avotius, eBay is a big big lottery.
And my problem is solved by honest help of Greyhoundman

p.s. Thanks Dave! It's a pity we can't drink some beer together ;)

I'm glad you got the part you wanted but just wanted to comment about that "big big lottery." I've seen plenty of Yahsica's that were advertised as in good shape but with a sticking shutter, erratic shutter at slow speeds, non-working metering, dents in the baseplate, or other things sell for ridiculously low starting bids or even not at all! I've also seen repairment sell off huge lots of parts for specific cameras very cheap.
