Greetings:

I'm looking for an original metal lens cap for my Serenar 50 mm f1.9. Does anyone know where I might look. There was one offerred on ebay, but I missed it. Any thoughts or recommendations, or perhaps there's someone on the forum with an extra one? Thanks in advance.

And obliged if anybody has spare or a source of Jupiter-12 LTM 35mm f2.8 lenscaps & case - especially for the exposed huge rear lens element !

As seen here

I've cut down - reduced the height to approx 26mm - of a standard plastic film can and it is a nice neat press fit over the rear. After adjusting the focus of the lens - ie the 'overall height' - it then stores well in a small E45 skin cream (125gram) tub.

Many thanks comrades

The lens cap for the Industar 61-L/D (И-61Л/Д) is a dandy fit for the Canon rangefinder lenses using 40mm filters. Mine is has the FED (ФЗD) logo cast into it. You can probably get the lens and cap for less than a Canon 42mm cap. ($25 is cheap for the Canon 42mm cap.) Not a bad lens, either, once you clean and relubricate the focusing mount.

Other than that, check the junk bins at a camera show. There are various 42mm push-on caps out there. Better than risking losing a Canon cap while out shooting...

If you really want a Canon one, the easiest way might be to buy a Canon 135mm f/4.0 lens with caps. Not a popular lens.
