LeicaTom recently posted a WTB ad looking for documents pertaining to wartime use of Leicas by American soldiers. The ad reminded me of a set of books I have titled "Pictorial History of the Second World War" (Wise & Co., 1940's). A quick look through the four volumes turned up two pictures.

It looks like a IIIa/IIIb and maybe a Leica III?

Photos taken of Military Photographers with Leica`s hanging around their necks are rare, while they are mostly on the taking side of most 35mm photos.
