I've just begun using the 15mm on my Fujifilm X-E1, with the Fujifilm M adapter. Does anyone here have enough experience with this combinati0n to recommend optimum distortion settings? I've experimented a little with various degrees of barrel correction, but thus far I just can't tell what amount of correctin (if any) works best.

Hi, Back Alley, I mean the lens adapter setting. Fuji's M lens adapter has a button that instantly calls up a screen where you can select a focal length for the non-Fuji lens you have mounted, and then dial in desired degrees of distortion correction, color shading correcti0n and peripheral illuminatin correction.

I am not sure about color shading, but for distortion I shot something that had rectangles like a brick wall or white graph paper. For peripheral illumination, I just used a piece of white paper or a white wash wall from side of house. Played w/ adjustments until they looked right. Something white may also be good for color shading... I am not good at subtle difference in color as I have gotten older. Usually have to ask my wife to help w/ color balance issue.

Gary, thanks. I'll make time to set up on a tripod and shoot the good old brick wall. I'm not so concerned about color shading or edge illumination, as I'll be using the Heliar mainly for b/w work where a little vignetting probably wouldn't hurt.
