X pro 1 on its way, Gas attack

I'm sure you will enjoy it. It just takes a little time to learn, but the results are worth the effort.

Like it was said before on here. Just make sure the body and lenses have the latest firmware.
I shoot a lot gigs with it and the 3 shot burst is wonderful.
Don't really miss the D700.

lve so much to learn did not realise that the lenses as well as the body needs firmware updated, so so much to learn

Yes when new firmware comes out they will have one for the lens and one for the body.
It made my 35 1.4 a completely different animal.

Set the film simulator to Astia ("S," I think) and enjoy!

Also, unless you end up with one of the OIS lenses, don't be shy about using a faster shutter speed and higher ISO setting. Camera/user shake can have an impact on image sharpness -- at least for this user.

hold the display button down while turning on the camera…the versions for lens and body will show on the lcd screen.

Sorry if I caused your ailment... But now we suffer together...

I just came inside from a two hour walk with my xp1... The 18 is a great lens...use it for a week or 2 before you buy another so you feel really comfortable with the lens/body combo...you will find it focuses great!

Then get yourself a 35mm...this is an unmatched lens...just the best! I ditched the lens shade for an $8 rubber screw-in collapsable one from amazon which I think I'll be sticking with as it never fall off :) (my only complaint about this lens...fuji should man up and license the lens shade design from Leica :)

I think you will totally love your new found window to better photos :)...and don't be afraid to set up the BW viewfinder...a really great experience of SEEING in BW that you could never have before - and you can flip one switch to the OVF to see color if you want to...

Happy shooting.

Tom

Thanks Tom, funny enough l missed out on the latest fuji offer, l bought the x pro 1 with 18mm bundle, l bought it yesterday 1.04.14 if l had bought it gefore 31.03.14 l could have applied for a free 35mm from fuji .....just my luck

I have a nice metal screw in Nikon hood that I use now instead of the Fuji one for the 35.

I left my heart . . . no, wait, I left my Fuji 35 lens cap in San Francisco this past weekend. On a bus I guess. First time in over a year I lost it. I have one on the way (for $19.99). I will be more careful from now on.

It might be worth applying anyway. Fuji seem to be very good about customer service and it wouldn't surprise me if they let you sneak in if only one day late.

Wellthe x pro 1 has just arrived, battery now on charge and both lens and x pro 1 are now being registered, spoke to some one at fuji and its a no go on the extra lens even though l missed the offer by just a few hours, such is life, not to bothered as l have in front of me a nice new camera to play with

Not as bad as l thought, menu wise, already set up a custom, mono with red filter 400 asa and velvia 200, its like the early 1980s again , l might end up getting divorced as this camera is way way cool
