Yesterday was my first full day with the new (to me) X-Pro 1. I opted for the 35/1.4 lens, and I'll get the 18mm later (it will duplicate my 50/28 preference).

After everything was said and done, I'm enjoying the h$ll out of it. Feels right in hand, shutter is smooth, lens seems great. I'm still ranting about lack of RAW support for Aperture, though.

Here's a jpg I shot in the driveway, desperately looking for anything interesting to shoot. My daughter was skating, so I grabbed the ladder from the garage and asked her to stand below.

Thanks Ben...yep, it's scary.

Here's a self-serving image I made in the mirror. I wanted to convince myself the X-Pro 1 looked compact in use. I think it does...it's very reminiscent of my M6, but hey...no scanning :)

I believe my M lust is gone. I'm stunned by what a nice package this camera is.

This is very very nice BW... I keep my hands off digital so far, but Fujifilm makes me weak... Probably when they launch FF i will crack...

PKR...I think I read today (maybe on RFF) that a Fuji rep somewhere said now 3rd quarter or fall, instead of this spring.

I have to wonder if it's release would cannibalize new X100S sales.

If I owned an x100 I would keep it as when using 2 bodies, one always has a 35 on it. Also, the 35 is my most used RF lens - second backup body. For anything longer than a 50 or wider than 28, (or for accurate framing) I use an slr or dslr.

I have an X100 too. I think I might gift it to my oldest daughter. I do like a 35 FoV, but I hope it doesn't get too large for the X-Pro 1 (meaning a 23/1.4).

Maggie, thank you :D

Congrats! I'm loving my X-Pro, 35mm and newly acquired 18mm (which is also awesome, don't believe the negative hype).

Very nice portrait, great idea for the angle.
Your daughter is beautiful, mine is only 3 years old, I can't imagine her that old.

Congrats! I'm still trying to decided between a Fuji X-E1 + 35 and 18 or a used Leica M9! This post pulled me a little closer to the Fuji!

18mm is next! But, that may be a bit of a wait.

Have you read the other RFF threads on the 18 v. the 18-55? I have the 18 + 35 (and love the 35), but some have found that the zoom is sharper wide open than the 18/2.

It's a wonderful machine. My current digital go-everywhere/shoot-anything.

i'm really liking the 18/35 combo...more so now than with any other brand/camera system before...not sure what might have changed...i am very much looking forward to the 27mm though as the 40 pov has been a long time favourite.
i like both bodies but have figured out why i prefer the xe-1...it's the diopter control...with the xp-1 i have a hard time seeing clearly as i need to hold my head/glasses in a certain spot to have an in focus view.

Yes, the diopter seals the deal for me. Don't like shooting with glasses on (bifocal/graduals) if I can help it. The XE1 joins a diopter clan that includes the GXR, OM4, M5, Lumix G1, and Pen FT.
