X-Pro 1 Verdict: A Big Win for Me

I am nowhere near a pro, so I use the 18-55 and absolutely love it. I sold my 18 and 35. They were great lenses but redundant for my needs.
I kept the 60 because I love it as a portrait lens. The bokeh is so smooth. Macro is pretty good too.

I love this camera. It has made me a lot bètter photographer than when I just used to hit the shutter on my 5d.

i wear my glasses but the diopter helps even with them on...but i'm happy with both cams.
now to decide which one i take on my travels...or take both with a lens attached to each and that's it...

i bought the zoom as well but i just like primes better in the end...i find it faster to compose w/o having to think about the focal length at the same time.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

On this camera especially, I'm a prime guy. I like the OVF and I don't think the zoom will show each and every 1mm of focal length change...I'd be committed to the EVF. Plus, I'm looking for a compact, professional kit. Zooms add size and weight.

I'll be doing more shooting this week as I get accustomed to the metering and focus, and I'll share if anyone is interested.

^ Yea I had the zoom but didn't like the feel of that lens on this type of camera, even though the results were very nice. The 18mm is just so nice and compact.

Another jpg from the X-Pro 1 (my youngest daughter was on her way to a dance)...I still think the XP1 is a terrific professional RF-styled camera. It's IQ is fabulous too.

I'm still having problems using Camera Raw to convert .RAF files to .dng for Aperture.

I had to use the Adobe .dng converter, but convert to an older standard, to get the RAW files into PS5.1...THEN, import the .psd files to Aperture. What a pain in the a$$.

Anyway, once they were there, they are great files. The RAW files mimic the RAW from my X100, but larger. They seem very sharp.

David, have you tried Lightroom 4.4 RC1? It has new support for the X-Trans sensor and seems to have fixed a lot of the issues that people were seeing with earlier versions of LR. The lack of decent LR support for the X-Trans raws was a large part of what was keeping me away from the X family, but now it looks like I can reconsider.
