X-Pro 2: any news?

front1.png

This may possibly be a real leaked photo from fujirumors.

I'll be buying the X-Pro2 the minute it comes out. The X-Pro1 is too slow for MY needs at this point, but I loved it otherwise. I hope Fuji gets this refresh right.

Andy,

Looks like Fuji is planning on X-E2s coming a bit after the release X-Pro2 according to the rumor sites.

Would be really great if they put the 24 mp sensor. I love the concept of X-Pro series and adored my X-Pro1, but I really like the overall size of X-E series. X-Pro1 felt just about the same size as M8/M9 in my hands. X-E1/E2 are more like "mini film M" or "CL plus." If Fuji can make the X-Pro2 in the size of film M, that would be great and I might go back to X-Pro line, but I don't think that's happening based on what I can see in the rumor shots.

Hoping to see X-E2s (or whatever it's called) with

• 24 MP sensor
• X-Pro2 style integrated ISO dial (probably won't happen to differentiate the Pro series...)
•*Improved rendering of the sensor, eliminating the "wax skin" look of 2nd gen sensors
• Same size as X-E2/E1

.... Or I give in and go back to the Pro series with X-Pro2. ;)

Anyone feel like maybe in the end,.... The XE models will be the "odd man out" ?

Xpro-2, Xt-1,

2nd tier
Xt-10,

Why would they build an XE3 with the xt10 holding down the fort?

Personally I hope there is an XE3 with weather sealling and Dual card slots.
I'm really digging the tiny bouncable flash on the Xe1. An evf model with built in flexy flash is golden imo. Seems like it may not happen.

Follow up on X-E2s:

"According to our sources, the Fujfilm X-E2s will feature the same 16MP X-TransII sensor of its predecessor, the X-E2. Always according to FujiRumors sources, the most relevant changes/improvements compared to the X-E2 will be firmware based."

Well, looks like it will be a very minor update on X-E series with 16 mp sensor. Sounds like it's either X-Pro2 or sticking with X-E1 for now and buy a lens or two instead.

Thanks Sug

It's a bit of a bummer. I hope at least for dual card slots and weather sealing.
Otherwise I will stick with the XE1 until the XE3 finally arrives (hopefully).

I love the optical Hybrid finder but simply would prefer a high quality EVF.
The OVF is an awesome tool for wide angle and reportage users.
I shoot more Portraits, candids, and details. A clear view of my exact point of focus is much more useful.
Maybe the Xpro2 will have a hybrid optical and eve function that gets those details... we'll see.
I still think the XE form is a nicer fit personally.

I've read somewhere that it will be similar to the X100T in that regard, with the possibility to display a magnified evf focus view window somewhere in the ovf window.

All this sensor talk makes me wish for Kodachrome🤔

I was working with some Fuji Raw files in SilkyPix RAW tonight and applied the K64 profile to some shots. Very pleasant results.

I still have a few rolls of K64 and a couple of K25 in the fridge, just in case ...

I will be an early buyer. Am currently using the "best" FF sensor, but the rest around it does not excite me and it will be sold when the X-Pro2 is available. My Fuji lenses currently get work outs on the X-T10 (I hope a version 2 of this tiny excellent camera will follow as well).

Funny, I live almost across the street from the Fujifilm headquarters in Tokyo. I will borrow an XPro-2 as soon as it is released. Quite interestingly, Fuji will let you borrow anything you want to try out, so long as they have it downstairs.

Yesterday they had a little photo contest in the neighborhood. Entrants were given XT1 bodies with lenses, and given a fixed amount of time to go out and shoot. When I was walking to the post office, there were people all over the hotel and shopping center taking pictures of everything from each other to the fire plugs on the side of the building.

I visited there back in 2012. I only got some pamphlets though...

Forget about the XPRO2, I hear there is an X200 , with a fixed 50mm lens MONOCHROME almost due.

I don't mind the lens being 50 or 35, as long as it does not have the fly-by-wire never-focus, but I don't understand why Fuji hasn't drunk from the monochrome well yet.

Is astrophotography more frequent among Fuji users than monochrome?

Can you image an Xwhatever with monochrome sensor and a truly manual lens (smooth and accurate focus with distances on the lens and no aperture delays) ? Damn I would even get rid of the back LCD and most buttons and sell it for $2000.

Fuji is not imitating Leica enough :)

Now that WOULD be something! For me, not overly interested in the monochrome-only aspect, but a lens like that would move the x100 range into a different league...

Full spectrum also has a market in forensic photography. That is what the Fuji IS PRO was marketed toward.
