X-pro1 eyepiece removal

Before I break something or tear the rubber on the eyepiece... are there any tricks or suggestions for removing my x-pro 1 eyepiece to put on a diopter? I've been trying to simply unscrew it and using as much force as I can on the rubber eyeglass protector and I can't get it to budge. I know that some cameras you just screw the diopter into the existing eyepiece, is this true in this case? Any suggestions would help, it's almost impossible for me to use EVF without some diopter adjustment. Thanks, Bob.

Didn't have any problems or extra force needed to remove mine. Just make sure that it's there in the first place 🙂 ( many cases of eye piece missing...)

I suppose, just like removing the X100 lens "ring", the trick is to, Not squeeze or grip it hard to unscrew. It should be held gentle while unscrewing. Good luck..
