X-Pro1 Terminal Camera

This is werid. I may never buy another camera. Well, at my age I may not buy another for the very good reason that I will cease to exist. But I don't mean that. I mean that my X-Pro1 and attendant lenses meet my needs so completely that I am not tempted to replace them with anything now existing or on the horizon.

I have the 14mm, 35mm and 60mm primes. Although a zoom tele is available, I no longer need a long lens. The viewfinder can be an OFV or EVF, my choice depending on the situation. The form factor is what I like and am used to. For me, personally, there is nothing to improve upon.

I bought A Leica strap for the XP1. They're nice. I'm contemplating a Small Hadley bag, very expensive. Maybe a faster media card?

But camera gear? Nothing else needed or desired by me. I suppose this feeling will be sorely tested with the appearance of an X-Pro2. But for now — photographic heaven.

Lol your title made me think the poor Fuji died on u 😀

I still have a lot of camera equipment. One of these days I should pair down, especially given a lot of my photography (maybe 80-90 percent) is covered by the Fuji and sigma cameras.

In terms of long lenses, a old manual focus lens like Leica 135f4 or Nikon 135f2.8 could be a good enough alternative for u as well if the 55-200 zoom is not your cup of tea.

knowing my propensity for changing things up, i wont make the same claim...but the reality is i am liking the fujis just fine...i went out today with the xe1 and the 18...could not have been more satisfying an experience...

I am pleased with the XP1 too. I have no motivation to consider other cameras.

I plan to upgrade to the next generation Fuji OVF/EVF interchangeable lens body. If Fuji should abandon the OVF, then I will buy a nice used XP1 for a back up body.

It is possible someone other than Leica or a Fuji will develop an APS-C, OVF, mirrorless, interchangeable-lens body. If this happens, I would consider such a system with an open mind. However I must say I don't spend anytime thinking about this as the XP1 serves my goals very well.

Ha, ha. Terminal, as in end of the line. My X-Pro1 seems in good health and is disease-free (knock on wood).

Hi Dick, i am as content with the X-Pro1 as I was with my Contax G-2 in my "analog day's" I had the 21-28-45 and 90 mm lenses and I will probably build my X-Pro1 collection likewise. I already own the 14-18-35 and 60mm lenses which I plan to augment with the 23 and the 56 (if not to expensive).
Other than my current lens selection I am very content with the body and the way of working with it. Even more with Fuji's continued attention for the current systems. I really like their firmware policy and just installed version 2.05 which enables the use of the fn button for AF selection in stead of the button on the lower left. brilliant. Now waiting for the promised AF improvements july 23rd and, hopefully the fixing of the auto-ISO bug and I can shoot forever with the X-Pro1. I very recently sold my already 2nd hand X100 and bought a X100s for 75% list price which had just 40 actuations. with those 2 cam's I am a very happy camper indeed.

Which I mainly use for indoor available light people photography for which it is eminently useful.
