I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question with an easy answer that I'm missing, but does anyone know if Fuji changed the RAW file format for the X-T1? I can't get Lightroom to read the files despite updating my software.
Thanks!
Ben

Aperture raw support comes as a downloaded sw update to basic camera raw support that is used by other apps like iPhoto. LR support on the other hand is not depended on the apple camera raw sw, instead they use their own camera raw sw module which is used on all their products.
Adobe tends to update their raw sw sooner then apple does though. There is also adobe dng converter, but the dng files are not fully supported by apple due to multiple dng types and apple currently only supports one type, if I remember correctly.

Ps. Go check the adobe website on xt1 raw. I think there is a rc candidate that supports xt1.

The X-T1 is not currently supported by LR 5.3. However, you can download Adobe's free DNG Converter 8.4, convert your X-T1 RAW files to DNGs, and import the DNGs into Lightroom. No word when Adobe will release LR 5.4 with native X-T1 RAW file support.

You can also use an EXIF editor to change the camera name in the RAW file metadata from X-T1 to X-E2 and LR 5.3 will import them just fine.

Adobe will update soon. They always do. I'm always a Fuji early adopter and its generally within a month of them arriving in the US. Should be any day now.

Nice. I figured x-trans was x-trans was x-trans when it came to RAW formats. But, sounds like it varies by camera. Now, i just need to decide whether to keep shooting both RAW and JPGs in the mean time....

Keep shooting raw+jpeg, future software releases always provide additional processing capability with regard to raw conversion.

Sounds like good advice.

A simple reason why I refuse to support those camera manufacturers who do not offer out of the box raw file compatibility with the leading post processing software programs.

It is actually..but all,sw vendors check the maker and model info to make sure that there is no model specific differences to account for. The test for the xt1 model is not in the data base. People have used third party exif editors to change the model info to one that is recognized by the sw for that same maker... But the problem there is that if there was a specific sensor related change, it will not be properly picked up until u go back and fix the model info back to correct (otherwise safest if u are doing this is to keep two copies, original and edited).
I tend to wait.. Just shoot raw+ jpg until the sw has been updated.

So, no new news on this at all?

Capture One updated yesterday to now include the X-T1 so surely Adobe won't be much longer? That said I usually prefer to convert to .tiff in C1 anyway and then use LR for Fuji files but not tried the new C1 release yet.

FWIW, Fujirumors believes Adobe will release Lightroom 5.4 with X-T1 raw support next week:
