I'm not sure if anyone else with a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has had problems with the X-T1's remote camera app. I certainly ran into some issues.

When initially connecting, things looked good. Strong signal being shown on the phone. The app would connect (albeit slowly) and the camera would switch to the "remote mode". However, almost immediately, my phone began reporting an "unstable connection" error. The camera would respond for a few seconds and then disconnect.

I did a number of things to try to remedy the problem.

remove/add the wifi profile on the phone
reset the camera
reboot the phone
pull the battery from the camera

Nothing worked.

Cue early adopters regrets and cursing. The wifi remote was one of the deciding factors for selling my x-pro1 and x20. :bang:

I called Fujifilm USA this morning and they said that they had received the same complaint from another GN3 user yesterday but did not have any other info or suggestions at this time.

To make a long story short, I resisted the urge to box up the camera and decided to keep trying.

The solution that I found at this time, was to do the following on my Sprint Galaxy Note 3;

Go to...

settings>connection>more networks>mobile networks>uncheck the mobile data box

I also disabled the connections optimizer.

You may want to "forget" the x-t1 under the Wifi settings if you have tried to attach without success and restart the process.

I then spent about 20 minutes messing about with all of the functions including recording video. No "unstable connection" errors and no disconnects.

I called the guys at Fujifilm and (unsuccessfully tried to barter my fix for a battery grip) told them what I did. Hopefully they can remedy this situation. I am happy I got it to work but I am not crazy about jumping through hoops to do so.

I haven't tried every combination of changing the connection optimizer and mobile networking settings etc., so YMMV.

Other than that, so far, I find the XT-1 to be a wonderful camera. I will be posting more on it as I get to know it better.

Anyway, if you have been experiencing the same problems, I hope this helps

Sounds like the galaxy smartphone is trying to constantly look for a real cell data connection as its prime source when the "mobile data" is checked and there is something in the handshake w/ the Fuji that is not meeting that criteria.

Just guessing

My Note 3 works fine.
On the phone, go to Settings->wifi-> advanced, and un-check "Auto network switch".

I had to do this to use my phone with my GoPro 3 as well.

"Auto network switch" not checked...still wonky. I have found that a number of GN3 users are experiencing the same thing. Very strange...

Thank you for the tip though!
