x0.85 mag for Leica M

There's a store on eBay selling x0.85 VF magnifiers for Leica M at around $US100 a pop. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them and can attest to the quality... Apparently Megaperls had some issues with theirs and stop making them.

You mean the 0.85x de-magnifier (converting 0.72x to ~ 0.6 and 0.85x to ~ 0.72) ? I had one of these to use with my M6TTL 0.85x but what you see wearing glasses is nowhere close to a real 0.72x finder. It is something like "tunnelvision" ...

Bugger. It would be nice to see the 35mm frame on my M2 all at once with glasses on. Maybe a diopter is the way to go, although that won't help my astigmatism... There's always laser surgery, I suppose.
