X100 AC Adapter… hacking?

I just scored an X100 dummy battery and pigtail (CP-95B) plus the AC adapter (AC-5VX). You pop the plug out (it's near the outer edge of the battery door), and the cord emerges flush.

Supposedly this setup is intended to prevent shutdown and data loss when copying from the camera to a computer with a lot battery - but has anyone thought about connecting the 5V cord from the camera to a super-capacity battery with a 5V output? You could kill it with video or go nuts with an Eye-Fi card.

Ok, so with a 4mm barrel plug to USB adapter, you can power the camera off an external lithium-ion battery. You do need a lot of current. I tested this with a pair of Lenmar PowerPort 2100s and a Y USB hub that aggregates the power from two USB sockets (here, separate batteries) into one.

My subjective view is that with 5v of power going in (and this is normal coming from the Fuji adapter), the camera actually focuses a bit faster.

This is interesting to me because I happen to own a large capacity Li battery (IOGEAR GMP10K GearPower 11,000mAh. with 1.1 and 2.0 A USB outlets).

The AC adapter for the XT-1 and the battery grip (VG-XT1) uses a 9 V supply (AC-9).

I no longer have a X100. Is the X100 battery a 5V battery?

The IOGear battery is small and it can hang from the tripod in it's case. I would also use it to use with an iPad to run the Fujifilm Remote Camera Control App.

Willie, the X100 has a 3.7 volt battery and a 5V power supply. It would be fantastic to run it off a big USB battery. Not sure how you would get 7.4-10v out of a battery like that. The other thing is that the X100's AC adapter is a dummy battery.
