I read somewhere that the X100's RAW (RAF format) files are very large, much larger e.g. than on my DSLR that features roughly the same resolution.
My Nikon D300 (resolution 12.2 Mpixel) produces NEF format RAW files of 9.8 to 11MB. The X100 (resolution also 12.2 Mpixel) apparently produces RAF files or 17 to 19MB.
Can anyone elaborate on why these RAF files are so much larger than other RAW files of other cameras with equivalent sensor resolutions?
PS: I'm beginning to understand why Fuji has included a RAW button on this camera ...
