I think this rumor broke a day or two ago, but it was confirmed at CES today: the black X100s will go on sale in February, for the same price as the silver version.
Apologies for the purely cosmetic content of this post, but based on my lurking I expect a few people have been waiting for this

I like that they didn't make this a limited edition with a higher price tag. I can't decide if I like silver or black better!

Funny, considering how they said that they had no plans for a black version. I suspect this will draw out all the black-camera-loving hopefuls who have been holding out for this hero.
What must be a couple of years ago, I bought the black limited edition X100 that came with the black case, filter and other doodads. Got it for a good price, too. And I'm still using it! I feel no urge to get the X100s, black or otherwise, but I'm sure many will pounce in the next few months of its release.
