and i am looking forward to it. have not been this excited about a piece of gear in ages but i think this little camera is gonna be the answer to my camera body wishes.

and before someone comes rushing in to deflate my tiny bit of joy...i know it's not going to change the artistic quality of my photo output...

The XE3 has some incremental improvements, and some changes which you may or may not prefer to the XE2. Like most upgrades, some are really excited about it, others not so much. I hope the new XE3 meets the expectations of the OP.

Incremental?

Seems like a pretty comprehensive overhaul to me.
New denser sensor, new processor, new chassis and layout, new evf, new interface, built in flash now gone.... etc.
Other than the naming series, basic controls/dials, and evf on the left.... much is different with this model.
Is it an Upgrade from the xe2? Too early to tell.
For myself it will be an upgrade from the xe1 which I still use.

i have the xt20 also...and i find that the larger lenses feel pretty good on the smaller body...with the similar sized xe3 i expect the same.
but mostly i plan to use the 3 f2 lenses with the xe3 for a tiny kit...it all fits into a domke f8 bag easily.

A comprehensive overhaul with only incremental improvements is not a contradiction. To the contrary, it is the norm with new camera models.

It's a redesign of the entire back of the camera... which in Fuji land is significant. However, I understand your point as well.
