xenon 30mm f2 lens?

I was browsing threw ebay today and came across this lens which looked quite interesting

Has anyone seen this before?

Just doesn't look right to me. The rear shows RF coupling without a secondary helical. The distance markings seem too widely spaced to me for such a WA lens. I don't have anything wider than 40mm with me and these are definitely wider spaced than that - suggests longer focal length.

Why is the box pristine and the barrel marked?

Looks to me like a cut-down Jupiter-8 barrel.

I can't find any internet references to a Xenon 30mm. There is a reference to a Xenogon 30mm F3.5.

My bet is "fake."

There is a samsung NX lens that fits these specs.

Maybe, if you were lucky, that would be the donor lens.

The mount is definitely a Jupiter 8. Matches my 1967 J-8 almost exactly. Distance markings exactly match. So whatever it might do on a mirrorless body it is useless for RF or zone focus.

Whatever it may be, it has been mounted in some old FSU barrel - the box and lens positively are from a very different period.

A aperture-less 30mm f/2 Cine Xenon used to be sold for a variety of small format cine/video projection applications in the eighties/nineties, and perhaps past that as a CCTV (surveillance) lens - so it will probably something from that lens family. If so, it may not even cover M4/3 at infinity, and certainly will not cover 24x36mm (even more so as it can't be stopped down).
