That’s pretty small for a 1.1!

Yep, even smaller on an M where you don't need that adapter!

As a portrait lens on the XP3. I had it on manual exposure @ 1/250 with ISO on A and aperture maybe f2-ish. The 'new' EVF makes it super easy to focus, much much better than the ancient hot shoe EVF on my M240.
It gives surprising snap, and the bokeh looks really nice to me - I added the 1:1 crop to show that and sharpness. The full pic has the face blurred out as requested. It is not a lens defect!
Some people just don't want their face all over the internet. Weird, huh?
;p

Oh all these shots are jpegs on the Astia setting. Fuji has really nice jpegs.

How is yours at f1.1? Mine on my X-t3 looked odd, not sharp and sort of dirty image. At f1.4 it was fine though.

Huss: How would you compare the 7artisans to the Voigtlander Nokton f/1.1? Any reason you'd choose one over the other besides price?

It's an X-Pro3 not XP3. Life is confusing enough. Just saying......

The 7A has much nicer bokeh and is flattering for people pics. I don't think it is very good for infinity/landscape type shots as it seems there may be a bit of field curvature but I am not 100% sure as I haven't properly tested it for that.
The Nokton is a crazy sharp lens, even at 1.1. But the downside is the bokeh is harsh and busy, so shooting at 1.1 is for low light, not pretty bokeh portraits.
Click stop aperture ring which I prefer to the click less on the 7A.
The 7A has a much nicer size and you can tune focus if need be. But it focuses past infinity if you go by the hard stop. Nokton (on my cameras) focuses infinity at the hard stop.
If I had to pick just one, it would be the 7A as gives such a nice look to pics. Price is a bonus.

I don't have any from my XP3, so I'll have to get on that.

I’m impressed!
Unfortunately LR 6.14 will not convert the X-Pro3 RAW files, and I have no intention of jumping on the Adobe bandwagon for subscription software.

You can use Iridient X-Transformer on the RAFs to convert to DNG and then Lightroom will have no problem with the files. Iridient's demosaicing is better than LR6 too.

Sign up for his newsletter and he occasionally has sales too. I bought x-transformer when it first came out and Brian is still updating it for no cost to any existing customers. Like you I am sticking with v6 of LR as I don't want to go subscription either.
Just be aware that the DNG will be larger files as they are linear DNGs. The software has multiple options for compression too to reduce file size.

At the moment I’m researching mirrorless cameras (due to flange depth from the sensor) to accept and perform with Leica M glass. My 1st choice would be FF 35mm and I may end up with a Z6 or an A7x.

I have an Z7 and M240. M240 is much better with M glass. They are 'cheap' used and rock sold cameras.

I agree with Huss on the M240 being a rock solid camera. It was too good of a camera, but it was for many users "too bulky" in size. Else, it is now a bargain buy.

XP3 is the accepted abbreviation for the X-Pro3. Nothing confusing at all...unless you can point out another Fuji With the same name.
