Hello
I can buy a secondhand 30mm cheap.
But is this lens really nice, isnt it TOO wide?
Or is 45 wide enough?
Who can help me decide ?
I want to use the 30mm for nature landscapes.
May be some body has some example pics made with the 30mm lens

I think this lens is INCREDIBLE! As good as any Leica M. The only drawback is you need a ND filter. However, if you dont want it and its a good price, let me know. I will probably buy it for the right price.

Buy the 30MM?
Buy the 30MM?
I have the full set, 30mm, 45mm, and 90mm. I would estimate that I use the 30mm about 50-60% of the time. It is a delightful lens to use - sharp way out into the corners. It just wants to gobble up landscapes and produce the most heartbreakingly superb photos. I thought that the 45mm was good but the 30mm is the real reason why you buy this camera.
That said, you must use a tripod because of the filter. Moreover, if you can get it to work right, oftentimes, you will want to use a polarizer. Stop it down 3 stops (like you should) and you are often looking at 1 second exposures.
Yes, you can hand hold it but when the leap in quality is so much higher with a tripod, why would you?
If you can afford it, it will not disappoint.

There is no such thing as too wide!
All the XPan images in my gallery are with the 30mm. I have used the lens without the ND filter and not actually noticed significant exposure problems. I surprised myself too, but it's true!

The 30 is the real reason to get an Xpan. Almost all of my best shots with the camera have been with the 30.
