Hello all,
I've had a quick play with a lens that a local retailer is selling. Like new condition, little signs of use, boxed, with hood (which is a bonus) at a decent price. However, I have noticed that focusing is less stiff than with the standard 45mm, also I tested it for any aperture ring movement as I remembered reading somebody's post about this. The aperture ring (the whole inner barrel in fact) is just ever so slightly loose in that you will feel it moving vertically (holding the camera in horizontal position / or with lens' distance markings visible). This is unlike the 45mm lens which is rock solid even when fully extended. Is this normal? Something to be expected with this lens design?
Other than that the lens seems to be behaving exactly like the 45mm in terms of focussing through the viewfinder.

Here's a link to a video clip showing this:

Thanks!

Have you seen the clip? No such movement at all?

The lens was described as in ex++ conditions with no mechanical issues mentioned but clearly there might be something wrong with it. I have got it on a ten day approval period to confirm that it is in the condition as advertised so it can be returned. Hasselblad service would probably need to have a look at it which will most likely cost as much as the lens itself...
