Xpan Cable Release

I have been using the self timer for releasing the shutter on a tripod. Is the only cable release option the ultra expensive hasselblad one or are there others available ? I bought a cheap but effective chinese version for the Contax and it is fine.

As I understand it the modern electronic cable releases can be used on any electronic camera. But I've never been brave enough to try it.

You can use a normal cable release on the Xpan II or the electronic release that is made for the Xpan.

I've had much success with my regular cable releases on the XPAN2. When I got it through the HERO program I was going to get the cable but the guy at Hasselblad told me not to bother with it, as it was backordered and not needed.

By the way- this is my favorite cable release- used these nonstop for years without any failures- can't say that about any other cable I ever had.

You might find that at extremely long exposure times the XPAN2 may not be as spot on for exposure as with shorter times- I often found it to be a fair bit under at times longer than 2 or 4 seconds.
