XPan-Nikkor adapter allow you to use Nikon F lenses on your XPan (or Fuji TX)?

Has anybody here used this adapter before, or seen the results? Is it worth it? What's the image quality? What's the difference of using a Nikon lens in panoramic or standard modes on the XPan body? What are all the lens options? Is telephoto a possibility? How much cropping is needed if the frame shows at the outer edges like a binocular?

I have one of these - they were made by a Dutch Hasselblad repair specialist. He stopped making them as he couldn't get the Xpan mounts from Hasselblad anymore. It looks like he has another source now.

I use mine with a Nikon 28/3.5 PC lens and CV 15mm viewfinder. Thin pieces of black tape are used to crop the VF top and bottom.

The corners of the image aren't great, but I don't know how it compares with the Xpan 30mm lens.

I have the same but for a Pentax K 28mm shift, which I have had for 20 years....................
Results similar to Nick's, a tiny bit of vignetting in corners....................

It's really great to see some pictures of the photo quality. What I really- really want to know is will the adapter work for a Nikon telephoto lens?

The 90 mm Hasse is great, but not great enough for many forms of wildlife photography. In addition, the lens is slow (f/4). I love the camera, and I'm not trying to make it something that it is not meant to be, but I like to know the full functionality of my equipment. If the XPan can be adapted to take great panoramic telephotos with an 80-200 or greater lens (maybe even with image stabilization), I am curious what they might look like. Has anybody even tried this?

Never tried it, the only Nikon lens I have is the 28PC. I guess the problem with telephotos will be focusing, unless you shoot at infinity. Remember, the RF doesn't work as there's no coupling between lens and body.

The Nikon telephoto lenses should work with a 24x36mm frame. The image circle will not be large enough for a panoramic frame. Then there would be the tricky matter of focusing...

I wonder what the Nikkor fish-eye lens on the Xpan would look like...

Makes we want to buy both and try it out -- if I ever get my camera back from repair...

Have any of you use it with the Nikkor 35mm f2.8 PC lens and does it required shifting to take the photo?

The whole point of using a 35mm format PC shift lens rather than a 35mm format ordinary lens is that a shift lens is made to cover much more than the 24x36mm frame [to allow for the shift] so as long as it is centred will cover nearly to the edge of the 24x58 xpan frame.
Result: a 28mm PC becomes a viable alternative to the expensive 30mm xpan lens [especially if you already have a PC lens in your bag]
So a 35mm PC will probably still cover the 24x58 but will be a narrower FOV.
You can still use abit of up/down shift if you want, but any left/right will mean the lens will not cover the whole frame..............
As there is no focussing [scale/zone focussing fine on a 28mm] won't really work with a long lens and anyway it will only cover 24x36 NOT 24x58, so why bother?

I just ordered an adapter for my XPan. I have many fine Nikkor F lenes to try. The thread is alive and well. Seems like the only way to answer some the questions is to get the adapter and have fun with it. Check out this guy's Texas Leica. I think he some wonderful visions floating around in his head. Also R Leica adapter.
