xt1 flash settings: that stupid feel ...

on my xt1, both the menu and quick menu options for the flash mode settings are inactive, whether i attach the flash or not, flash flipped up or not. the camera is set to single exposure and program mode. i certainly feel stupid because i can't figure out what i am missing. and maybe also because i _am_ stupid somehow, donnot know.

asking for your ideas as well as for your laughs.

Is Flash Mode enabled in the shooting menu, and Silent Mode set to Off? I don't have an X-t1, so this is more of a bump so an X-t1 owner might notice it and have a better answer.

I'm going with tomtofa's Silent Mode hypothesis.

And annoyingly in the X-T1 & X-E2 Fuji took away the function of switching silent mode on/off by a long press of the back button. Grrrrrfffffff
