Hi !

I am totaly new to this, so...I just bought an Xpan II, I also have a lot of lenses from Bronica E and Canon EOS system, and I was wandering, is there any mount that I could use so I could use those lenses on it as well. Mainlly I would like to use Bronica E lenses bacause they are MF lenses and should produce more cover for pano mode, or am I wrong.

On the same note, what other lenses have a full pano cover without vigneting and I could use on Xpan body also LF lenses, if there are some that I could use.

2 problems: 1) no RF coupling, and 2) the flange distance is HUGE on the MF SLR (to accommodate for the mirror on the SLR), so you will have this thick adapter, which probably will cause vignetting problem.

MF rangefinder lens is no good either since the Mamiya 6/7 have leaf shutters. Bronica 645 only goes up to 100mm, although there are 135mm somewhere... Anyway, all are more trouble than they are worth.

Believe me, I have been looking at the similar solutions for years :)

Yes I saw there is a Leica PC-SUPER-ANGULON-R 28mm f/2.8 and Voglteiler, I think in 35mm. But is that it? Is there really no way to experiment and to try. But even those two lenses are not cheep and will not do full pano coverage, am I right.

Coupling, yes I know I will loose, but if there are more benefits then losses, then that shouldnt be a problem.

There is no benefit except that it's cheap. If you have the 45mm, that's all the lens you "need." The 30mm XPan is expensive, so save up and get it eventually. Some people says it's the raison d'etre of the XPan, and I will have to agree with that, although I take equally as many photos with my 45 and 90.

The best bang for the buck is the 35mm PC Curtagon for the R. None of these adapted lenses will cover the entire Xpan frame due to the internal baffle of the camera blocking the very edges. However it is still much wider than the stock 45mm. I have tried the Schneider 28 PC and the Zeiss 35 PC and both are too big and heavy. I do wish I had $3k+ for the 30mm!

There is also the viewfinder issues: 1) large lens intrusion into the view, and 2) framing.
