the real problem is there is this weird assumption that what end users really want is a website with a bazillion large images that runs like complete and utter **** even on a high end pc.

seriously I have windows 7 64 pro, 8gb of the best mushkin memory money can buy, a 2500k and a high end dedicated video card and flickr runs like such complete ass that I actually have to control my desire to punch the programmer through my monior.

There has been an exodus of Flickr users to other sites b/c of the new user interface. Quite a few of us are ending up on ipernity, which is kind of like the old Flickr. Whether Flickr remains worth hanging around remains to be seen; I'll be interested to see if the site responds to all the criticism.

I wonder if he/she was the same person who recently came up w/ the "improved" homepage too. That caused a huge outrage too....that seems to have subsided in resignation to the reality that Yahoo mgmt. doesn't give a rat's ass about what their users think.
