My Y-44LM will not focus closer than an indicated 1.1m. The scale goes to 0.9m.
At 1.1 there is a definite 'clunk' as it hits a stop.
Inside, the cam that pushes the lens assembly back to the infinity position (the outermost cam) when in the close focus position, strikes the cam follower that rides on its back. Unless there is a great deal of wear (and it could be an over loved camera) I cannot see how it ever went to the 0.9m mark.
I would appreciate anyone with one of these little jems (not my words!) to check for me that their sample does indeed go all the way to 0.9m when close focussing.

I should add that the Y-44 is the LM model. Yashica 44LM. Has a selenium light meter (non-coupled) on top.
