I think I'm suffering the early stages of this. Since receiving my Lynx 14 the other day I have been reading up on the series. Today I actually bought on eBay another camera (which I hardly need), a Yashica MG1. I just couldn't pass it up. The seller has been moving alot of camera gear and everyone seems happy with him. The picture of it looked good. He even advised that he had recently had it serviced and cleaned by Mark Hama ltd. and that it uses the Yashica Guy Battery replacement without problem. Keep in mind that I still haven't scanned my first roll thru my Lynx and that I just figured out how to get the metering to work in it. This is going to be a bad addiction I feel.

I have managed to keep my Yashica addiction at bay ... my Electro GS has managed to satisfy my hunger quite sufficiently
now for my other addictions ... well ... lets just say it would be cheaper to have a Yashica addiction

I'm not doing too bad. I have 2 Electro 35 Professional models and bought a GSN yesterday at the local flea market. Tried to buy another today but the seller was somewhat proud of it at a selling price of $375.
So I passed it up...

I built my electro 35 GSN out of parts from three seperate cameras... why? So I didn't have to borrow my father's 35 GTN.

I am also awaiting the arrival of an MG-1. My electro c.c. was begging me for a little brother.

I just received my first Yashica -- a GT from G'man. It feels more substantial than the QL17 that I'm used to. Looking forward to using it!

Women or cars? Those are the only two that have cost me more than cameras and photography.IGMeanwell said:I have managed to keep my Yashica addiction at bay ... my Electro GS has managed to satisfy my hunger quite sufficiently

Was it owned by some celebrity in the past?colyn said:I'm not doing too bad. I have 2 Electro 35 Professional models and bought a GSN yesterday at the local flea market. Tried to buy another today but the seller was somewhat proud of it at a selling price of $375.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of deal did you get on your GSN? Is it working?

I've been seeing dented, non-working, "as-is" cameras sell for so cheap that I thought it might make sense to pick up some to build working cameras out of in the future.comp_wiz101 said:I built my electro 35 GSN out of parts from three seperate cameras... why? That's what I'll consider my MG-1. A little brother for my Lynx 14.freeranger said:I am also awaiting the arrival of an MG-1. My electro c.c. was begging me for a little brother.
I couldn't pass up one last deal before I attempt to ban myself from eBay for a time. A brand new (still in it's original display box) Yashica 35 ME. I guess it can be the little brother of the little brother.

Well maybe you can be the first to point out location of the G'man for me.Andrew Sowerby said:I just received my first Yashica -- a GT from G'man. It feels more substantial than the QL17 that I'm used to. Looking forward to using it!

Must have belonged to someone rich and/or famous..
I had to pay a rather hefty sum of $4 since it had a dirty front element and the seller did not know if it worked or not.
It does work after cleaning the glass.

Stop now, if possible. They become addictive. Take them out and shoot with them, they're great.

My first"real" camera was a Lynx 1000 bought new. (I'm older than I look). 25 years later that Lynx got me back into rangefinders so I started collecting Yashica leaf shutter cameras and eventually had one of every model produced. Then, being fickle, I started selling them to buy other cameras. I recently sold my last one, a Lynx 14, a RFF member. It was harder than stopping smoking and I'm thinking of posting a WTB ad for a working Lynx 1000.

I know what you mean. I just received my first Yashica "G" yesterday. I have a "GT" in the mail and I just placed a bid on a "GSN" earlier this morning.
Just how many is too many?
