Good shots. I missed getting one a couple of weeks ago because of inattentiveness. Recently I got an Electro 35 AF-mini, but while cleaning the grunge off the lens, accidentally pushed it into the camera, messing up the AF I think. It makes more noise now than when I first got it. Guess I should test it out with a roll of cheap stuff before giving up on it.

Nice photos. I think the lens on the AFJ may be related to the T series cameras. It certainly does a good job here. Nice find.

Nice shots from that old Yeshiva. Oy vey! Autocorrect can be such an unmensch.
Yashica certainly liked to recycle their camera names. I was aware of the point and shoots using the "J" designation (used for rangefinder and SLR as well), as well as the "Campus" name, but was not aware that they also recycled the Electro 35 nomenclature. It makes me wonder if there is a plastic Minister or Lynx out there, too.
The black version of the AF-J is the Ninja Star. How cool is that. Although if I were to throw a Yashica at anyone and expect it do the any real damage, it would probably be the TL Electro X, or the Yashica 12 TLR.

I agree with the TL Electro X, but for real self defense, it is a piker next to the TL Super.

Looks like you got a good camera there. I like the way it renders those shots.

A Nikkormat or Ricoh Singlex TLS would crush the Yashicas to bits, and still be able to be used to photograph the carnage afterward.

Thanks for the comments. It is a pretty good little camera for the money. I ran a roll of Kentmere 400 through it a few weeks ago at the beach. I like using cheap cameras at the beach so I don't have to worry about damage to my "real" cameras. Took it out in the water swimming with my kids for some action shots.
Here is one I crossposted in the pointed and shot thread.

You can definitely notice the heavy vignette on the beach pics but I am still pleased with the results.
