What ho one and all,

I acquired a Yashica Campus rangefinder camera that has (had) a number issues. This is muy first repair and is proving to be a lot of fun!!

The most obvious was that the brightline frame was not displayed as the mirror was broken. That has been remedied.

The bigger issue is the shutter neither winding nor tripping. I have stripped the shutter and removed the screws that hold the shutter to the body, resulting in the blades falling out(!) but am unable to actually remove the shutter due to the small T bar inserted into the cocking actuator. It seems to be a tapered 1mm diameter rod and all my attempts to remove it are only 'scaring' the rod with the danger of bending or breaking it. I have tried localized heat with a soldering iron, lighter fuel, thinners, tapping with a hammer and gripping with a specially ground needle noes pliers to pull. There is no sign of movement. The bar is shown in the red circle.

Grateful if anyone has a suggestion.

As a last ditch approach, I am considering breaking the rod, drilling out the broken part and reinserting another small rod (probably a steel pin that I have with more or less, the correct diameter.)

Thanks and toodle pip20240913_185108 (Medium).jpg
