In attach is a photo of my current "position".

I gather the outer ring and front lens came off, without the second element.

You have to put three small dots of super glue on the threads of the outer ring. Quickly screw it on tight. Leave it to set up. Then you should be able to remove the whole unit, using the notches on the outer ring.

I'm going to take some photos of the rings ... dont know what outer ring you're talking about...

One of those held the front lens glass in place. That is the one I'm referring to.
It's not the one on the left for sure.

The one on the right was the last i took out.
So, i must put it in place (the smallest), then glue the one on the middle and then take all out?
This will become permanently glued?

Here is a pic of the outer lens ring with the front element next to it.
This ring is the one you have to secure back in place to remove the whole lens unit.

Ok, that is the one on the middle.
Is it possible to unglue the ring afterwards?

Ok.
I'll do that tomorrow, 1:17 here ... must wake up 7h00 🙁
I must go and buy some oil also, i only have wb40.
In the meantime, i'm afarid that i may have done something wrong in the super-glue part :bang: . I cannot unscrew that after soaking it in acetone .... any other idea?

Back 🙂

Ok, bought 2 lubricants. Didn't had time to go downtown to get a proper watch oil, so i went to the local supermarket ....
One is named "G-22" and it says that is for guns, and precision machines.
The other is from REDEX and says that is a "thin oil".
What should i use, if any?
What is the proper way to lub the pivots and to clean the blades with thr Ronsonol?

Well, i've been busy the last few days. I've been the hands and my DSLR the eyes of G'Man.

Ok, after the lub took me 2 days to unscrew those rings, only after letting them overnight in acetone did the work.

Then moved to the shutter blades cleaning. Some q-tips with ronsonol did the trick. Be Very gentle with those blades!

Let it dry all ..... The shutter seems perfect now 🙂.
Now the assembly.
First the optics group (all the glass and 3 rings) that must be perfecly clean!!
Then save this group just to the end of the work.
After the optics, is easy to assemble the lens. Just put all as it were 🙂)). In the process clean the contacts with alcool, or, like me, with vodka 🙂.

It looked like this at this time.

After reassemble the lens except the optics, moved to the POD.

To get to the POD it was necessary to get the top off. Its fairly easy to get it out.... Just keep unscruwing things 🙂. Mainly:
...
"First remove the pin screw on the wind lever. It unscrews CCW. Then open the back and put a screwdriver in the rewind fork to hold it still. The rewind knob unscrews CCW.
Now, take out the pin screw for the asa dial, unscrews CCW.
Remove the dial and chrome ring.
Remove the two screws that hold the battery check panel on. Don't lose the red button.
Then remove the 3 cross point screws that hold on the top.
Watch out for the flash wire when you lift off the top." ..(c)G'Man

Uff 🙂

Got it done. But the flash wire, that survived this time, was going to get loose sometime later...

The POD.
Let me tell you that i hate the f%$#%# POD. Never ever hated such small 4x5x2 mm thing.
The POD is located just there (see pic). Well what was left of him. The space between the two metal plates must be very well cleaned. Took me 1 hour. The space is so small that you'l need to build some tools to get there.

Next find a replacement. My bet was an eraser. Good rubber i think 🙂
First try was a white one, but was not hard enough so went to buy a harder eraser .. the yellow seems good.
Just cut it in size......

Now its simple :
... "Take a sewing needle and put into the end of the POD like in pic.
A small dot of super glue goes on the side facing up.
In the pic the kittle circle in the middle is the glue.
The POD has to fit between the two pieces of meatl. Use a small screwdriver to push the lower piece down slip the POD in between holding it with the needle. When it is in place, release the lower metal tab and allow it to hold the POD in place till the glue sets. DON"T use too much glue!"..(c)G'Man.

Well, my experience was:
-Lost the POD 2 times inside the camera when testing the procedure;
-The flash wire went away;
-Took me over 1 hour.
-Got seconds from throuing the camera away !! 🙂) (joking)

But ... got it.

After this all went ok in the assembly.
All ?? not!
When doing the POD a bit of superglue went to the black metal plates that controls the light that reaches the photometer ... and the asa dial stoped working.

..."
Found the problem.
The f!"#!" superglue again, when i put the F#"$"$# POD 🙂))
Near "0" is a bit of superglue that fixes the black metal plate "1" to the screw.
Hence, the string in the back "3" and the metal thing "2" doesent move 🙁( so i only get to 125 but "2" is fixed in.
Any tips for removing the glue? Acetone again in a q-tip?" ...

me at this time asking G'Man for help .. again 😀
