the CC "compact camera" was one of the cheaper yashicas if i am not mistaken.
You can see on the build as well, it is a bit less well-built than the GX, as an example.
I liked using mine, though (before it got stolen...
)
it has a good lens, yashica definitely did not save on that!

Here's my two cents:
I feel like my two Yashica Electro 35 CC cameras have a very nice build quality. Seems Joe Wolff at yashica-guy.com thinks so too:
"The Electro 35 CC appeared in 1970 and was introduced in the US at the Photo Expo 71. Just a personal observation, I think that if Tiffany designed a camera, this would be it. The Yashica CC looks, feels and handles like a serious camera."
My recollection is that my Yashica Electro 35 GX was very similar in build quality. I sold that one a while ago...

I have serviced many of both types of cameras, and the build quality is identical. The CC and CCN are a little simplified compared to the GX due to having to fit the components into a smaller package. Between the two, I think the GX takes better pictures, but the CC is more reliable and less likely to malfunction.

I just received mine today and I'm testing it with some good ol' Kodak Tri-X.
These two are my favorites.

Great Cam... GREAT Shots !!

If only they had incorprated aperture blades instead of the dual function of the shutter/aperture blades it has now. Not only the 1/250s issue would have been solved, the "angels" would fly somewhere else too...
Hm, don't think combined shutter/aperture blades impose 1/250 limit. FC also have such implementation though top speed is 1/1000.

Great shot, too!
Have just received my new CCN that only needs some cleaning and new light seals (Jon Goodman's seal kit is on its way).
Looking forward to testing it.

I just got an Electro CC. Haven't been out shooting with it yet, but I really like the feel of it more than the GSN I had, it feels very solidly built. My only concern is the 1/250 max shutter, I like HP5 so that's problematic on a sunny day. I suppose it's nothing an ND can't fix though.

Can't go wrong with this camera at 1.8, unless you blow the focus...
