Yashica Electro 35: Dim VF

You'll have to remove top cover of camera and peel off black paper covering over RF assembly (some cameras, like KAS and KAS2 have cover made from blackened thin metal sheet, tightened by screws) and clean glass. Usually I take care of glass mounted in top cover (both sides), little mirror (carefully) and two glass pieces in VF - outer and inner. Now comes semisilvered beamsplitter (BS)....many recommend not to even touch it, though on Electro it's pretty good, those which I have seen at least. First I blow off anything visible and, and if there's haze on BS then breath on it and GENTLY, touching it VERY easy, wipe it with cleanest part of microfiber cloth. As BS is angled to other parts and little of space is in corners, I wrap cloth around little wooden stick and thus reach corners. Or just wrap cloth twofolds to make it sturdier and go such way.

Electro has amazing VF between old cheap FL RF's, can't offer opinion about relatively new RF cameras.
 
Cleaning the Electro 35 is pretty easy following the steps on that link. Actually I also repaired the POD with their instructions.
