The battery for my £5.00 Yashica GTN came today. Shoved it in and fired the shutter a few times in a dark room at different apertures.
Hey! It works! I can't guarantee that the timings are spot on, but the old thing still works! When I got it, it was covered in dirt and dust, though the insides were clean and the lens protected by a filter which took all the damage. A little bit of light cleaning, and it looks much better.
I have a roll of 200 film somewhere which is going into the camera for testing. As they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating - and the proof of my camera is in the picture quality. Tomorrow, I'll wake up early and catch some sunrise shots (assuming it's not persisting down with rain!)
