Yashica Electro 35 Gsn Photos.

Hello all I just joined the fourm and must say I love it .I have learned a lot from this fourm. I just wanted to share with you all about this camera I bought the other day.

I bought a Yashica Electro 35 Gsn at a yard sell for( $1.00). It came with a sunpak flash and the orignal camera case. I took it home cleaned it up a little bit because it had dust on it. I then went and got a 6v battery to replace the old 5.6v mercury battery. The camera is in perfect shape. The lens is clean and has no scraches on it. I put the battery in and the meter and shutter worked perfectly.

Here is a couple of test pics I made with this camera. The first pic is of my cat it was taken indoors in really low light. The second pic was taken outside at night with a street lamp close by. These camera's work good in low light. Im new to photography so there not the best pics.

Congratulations and welcome!

You'll love the Yashica Electro GSN - it is a fine camera with a very sharp lens. Take the time to learn all that you can do to creatively control the camera, and you'll be a very happy person.

In time, you may find that you want to move on to cameras that give you more automation - or more creative control - or both. But there are some great deals out there on fine cameras such as the one you have now - much can be done.

I hope you continue to enjoy your new camera and I hope that you find Rangefinderforum.com to be a welcome resource.

Welcome to the forum. The GSN has a very sharp lens on it. I am glad that it found a good home and did not just go back out on EBay!
The GSN is a great camera; and yours appears to be in great shape judging by the low-light photos. Judging by your log-in name, you will need to get the accessory lenses!
 
I thought this camera was probley broken and thats why they were selling it for a dollar. So I was surprised when I got home and found out it works perfectly.

I have already bought the accessory lens for it and I should recive them in the mail soon.
 
Yikes! I thought I was doing great with my $8 at a flea market! It's a really nice camera and the thing I like most is that I can take it everywhere and not have to worry about it. If it were to get broken or stolen, it's easy to replace at a low price since not everyone knows what sweet cameras they are :)

Yep, it's broken allright, gosh sorry to see that. I tell you what, I hate to see a new member take a loss on thier first rangefinder so I'll cover your dollar if you'll send the camera to me............you pay the shipping ;)

I was recently "given" a Minolta Hi-Matic 7sII rangefinder. But that $1.00 Yashica, may still be the better deal.
 
Don't expect too much from the auxiliary lens. And if it is the screw-on type it can be a nuisance to use because as you turn it to the proper focus you'll suddenly find you have loosened it from the camera.
