My new GS arrived yesterday afternoon. Thanks Greyhoundman, it's nicer than described and got here at warp speed. I spent the evening fondling the machine, amazed by the feel of quality. After using an XA this is a behemoth, but I like it!
Loading the film was fun since you have to loop it around behind the take up spool but wasn't too difficult, now I've done it once it will be a piece of cake. Now off to Radio Shack for a battery, then, (softly) click, click click... This has not eased any GAS symptoms, it's actually worse now! But I love this camera, it reminds me of what we used on our high school yearbook staff way back in the early 70's...

I took some shots last night along the St Croix river, what a blast! I really like the arrows in the viewfinder guiding you to a great exposure. I still can't get over how the camera feels as I operate it, it's wonderful...
