i just visited yashica-guy.com and found the models GSN and GTN. what is the difference between the two? it also says that the GTN is the flagship of yashica rangefinders...is this true?
do these models have a manual override?

GSN has a silver coloured top and trim whilst the GTN has a black top and trim. There is no other difference.
The GTN is not as common as the silver one.
They have no manual override, just aperature priority with a red arrow for over-exposure (1/500 is the top speed) and a yellow arrow for when the shutter speed drops below 1/30.
I have the GTN - it feels quite fragile but is actually quite tough. The paint is quite thin too (I have a Japan one) - the GSN finish seems more durable.

I've never owned one but check out the Yashica Lynx (f/1.4), I think this is the one you were thinking of.

Hey, wamjam, seeing as you are located in the same country, perhaps you can play with my GSN some time...I have to check the seals and test it first, though. It's apperture priority only but a good performer, nonetheless. (you can always cheat the meter by adjusting ASA)
