Yashica GT vs. GSN threads.

I have the lens adapters for the GSN, which I tried on the GT but it(GT) does not appear to have a deep enough thread to allow the adapters to mount without causing the adapter to bottom out on the front lens element. Has anyone here had the same problem?
I did thread on a 55mm filter to the GT but it too seemed to only thread on about 1 turn.

Possibly the lens trim ring is not tightened down. It shouldn't touch the element at any rate...Roger
