Hallo there 🙂 How can you compare the three rfs
I know that the GX and GL are lighter then the GSN, but what about the first two.
Are there any differences between the GX and GL, except the 1600 asa on the GL.
Difference in bodyweight, min and max shutter speed, meter or something. As far as i can see the lens is the same.
The other question is how can you compare the lens quality with the GSN ive heard that the 40mm is faster then the 45mm ( not only wider 😀 ).
If someone have expirience with all the cameras please make one comparison based on your expiriences. If not tech. differences will be useful too.

I have a Lynx 5000 (my first Yashi) and just bagged a mint GTN off the 'Bay, complete with case, strap (still in original packing), aux lenses, filters, viewer, tripod and carrying case-with the key! Yeah I'm HAPPY!

Just started using the llittle buggers and don't even have any developed film back yet, a'm on my way to pick up 3 rolls I shot this weekend....

Saw the pics from China and fell in love with the Yashi's.....

...and hey, my lurking days are over, this is my first post to RFF, howdy everyone!
 
I believe GX is just a smaller GL (without ISO1600...). Filter size is 52mm vs 55mm. They use SBC/SPD meters instead of the earlier CdS meters, which is supposed to do well in low light. I have seen mentions that GX has a better meter than the GL, but I cannot find any evidence of it (if so I would like to know, thanks).
 
The GX and GL are very rare. Even on this forum I doubt there is anyone who have both to give you a first-hand account, and what relatively few websites that are out there - even sites with extensive listings like Cameraquest and Photoenthography - I don't think even talk about the both the GX and the GL.

Personally, I would go with the GL if I could get my grubby mitts on one for a reasonable price (or if I didn't have a gazillion others...) because I could rate film at 1000 - 1600... but by all accounts the GX is supposed to be a wonderful camera.

However, apart from their rarity, the few times I've seen these at auction they go for dollars that - in my mind, are in a range that you can get into a newer "better"(?) category like maybe a Hexar AF (not RF) or maybe even an "ugly" user Contax G1 body?

I wish I can help you, since I have both GL and GX (Black). Unfortunately my GX has issues. I have not gotten the chance to give it a try yet. The shutter is stucked at the self-timer mech. But the GL has gone through 3 rolls. The lens are practically the same. If I am not mistaken, the ISO speed levers are at different places on the lens. I have the impression that the GX weigh less and smaller than the GL , I may be wrong as I have never thought or weighing them.

I finished 2 rolls of BW and here they are.

Both are very nice but I would think a Electro CC or CCN should also be considered as the FL is also fun to shoot around.

Oppsss....Did I just resurrected a 2 yr old post. Yikes.

Last year I've seen lot of GX's and CC's passing by on BAS. I've been just too cheap to grab them.

btw is it true that GX don't have gold plated contacts which makes them more prone to electrical failure?
 
I have GSN/GTNs, GXs, a GL and a CC. Here are some quick measurements I took of each:

GSN/GTN - 5 1/2"long, 3 1/4" tall, 1 1/2" wide
GL - 5 1/4" long, 3 1/8" tall, 1 1/2" wide
GX - 4 3/4" long, 3 1/8" tall, 1 1/2" wide
CC - 4 5/8" long, 3" tall, 1 1/4" wide

I didn't weigh the cameras but the GSN/GTN weighs a little more than the GL and so forth down to the CC. The GSN/GTN and the GL use 55mm filters; the GX and CC use 52mm filters. The GSN/GTN have the over/under readout arrows on top of the camera and in the viewfinder; the GX and CC only have it in the viewfinder. Hope this helps.
 
The Gx is much louder than the GSN. Max ISO 800, instead of 1000, no upper easy to change ISO button, but iso small lever around the barrel. 40mm instead of 45 at the GSN.

A step backwards, because compacting at the expense of functions cut is not compacting = just slicing.
