During my ongoing break from my Kiev Works, I was totally hooked by the old Yashicas fixed lens rfs.
Mostly of all it was due to the Yashicas auto parallax compensation, being me a constant rangefinder head cutter, with whatever rangefinder camera I use, including my former Olympuses, due to close portraits uses.
I am not going to make the point about who is better, as I see before me two totally different kind of mamiferos (in Spannish). But perhaps it has happened to you, that upon a tour to other country you begin to have a better perspective about your own. Tha't the point I want to make, and about Kievs.
Out of my unbalanced exciting feelings about the Yashicas, I have gathered:
- Yashica GSN, perfectly working.
- Yashica Lynx 14, arrived in award winning dirty status, as no FSU will ever match. Very corroded cell housing, loose f/stop ring.
- Yashica Lynx 1000, with a somewhat hard to turn focusing ring.
- Yashica Lynx 1000, with a soft focusing ring but all speeds from 15 to B unoperatively endless.
- Yashica GX on transit, finnishing all shopping until I put galleries on the forum.
Many of you are already understanding my point, While I was confined to the FSU gear and sellers, dirt, malfunctioning, abusive shipping fares, luck and misluck about what are you going to get - were all Soviet virtues.
All the Yashicas I have got come from USA sellers.
