Anybody know where I can get my Yashica electro 35 mg1 repaired in the uk? It winds on ok but nothing happens when you fire the shutter untill you cock the shutter again when you get a small click. Everything else seems fine on it. I tried AJ johnstone in Glasgow and they said it was too old for them to repair! Am I going to have to chuck it in the bin?
Thanks for any help

Dont chuck it in the bin, if it were unrepairable some one would want it for a parts camera, screws, lens bits etc.

I'll see if I can find advice for you.

Thanks for your help, I already tried yashica guy and replaced the pad of death but it wasn't that. But I came across Matt Dentons site and he had a gs that seemed to have the same problem so I'll get the screwdrivers out again!
Thanks again

If I didn't put them away then my Mrs would nag me! I already get it about all my cameras and camera bags lying about as it is! Just for the record My mg-1 cost £3.20 on E-bay and I just picked up another for £3 so no great loss if they are knackered.
