Hello there

I just got my hand on what I think is a Yashica Minister II. Have been fiddling around with it, firing the shutter and figuring out how it works. Everything seemed to be working fine, advance lever smooth, shutter firing, the selenium meter even gives a reading and everything.
But... all of a sudden, the advance lever is stuck. I switched the X-M lever (from X to M) while the shutter was cocked (I think) and now it's stuck. I'm afraid to apply too much pressure, would probably ruin something.

Does anyone know what this might be? Will I have to take it apart or have a professional do it?

Help appreciated.

Usually the winding mechanism is at the bottom of your camera. If you turn it upside down, remove the baseplate (usually by removing 4 screws) you might see what the problem is. Removing the baseplate is very easy and safe with most cameras, but don't blame me if something does go wrong 😉

Good luck.

It works again, like by magic. I pushed the X-M lever firmly back to X (was probably too gentle before). Then the advance lever was free again, I cocked it and fired it and the self timer went off.
Everything back to normal now.

Thanks a bunch for your replies, this forum continues to amaze me.

Regards
Indriði
