I've found a Yashica T3 for quite a reasonable price but I'd like to first know what I can expect from th Zeiss lens. I've read both pros and cons about its focusing. Along with that, does the T3 take a special battery or a standard AF battery available at say, Walmart?

I've heard it's similar to T4/T5 performance, but being a faster lens, might tend to choose wider apertures, like the Olympus Epic/mju II does.
Sometimes my T4 has missed focus if I've focussed on foliage, not a flat surface.
The delay doesn't bother me, as I don't photograph action or people.

I was given a Yashica T AF but so far only have shot one roll...If I didn't wait for it to focus properly it was OOF but when done right the image is pretty sharp
Sorry, but I don't remember which battery it takes...

I agree with Ben^^^

Try checking out some photos on Flicker...

I have some samples from a T4 and a T2 in my gallery. The T4 has the 2.8/35 and the T2 has the 3.5/35. T2 uses a weird hard to find battery (at least locally for me). The Ts takes the 2CR5 battery. I found that The T4 lens and T2 were about the same for landscapes etc. Not sure wide open. The T2 has a funny way to hold no flash - had to tape it down. The T4 you can set it off all the time.

They are great little cameras. The T4 was faster because the T2 retracts a lens cover with each and every shot. Sold all the T4's I have, still have the T2.

These older 35mm fixed focal length autofocus cameras are kind of fun. I have a Nikon L35AF and it's pretty good.

Very handy for street since they are small, cheap and quiet.
