The hot shoe on my GX stopped working yesterday from the day before.
On a hot-shoe only flash Rollei 110 XLC it will not fire. And it will fire neither with the 121 BC mounted on its hot-shoe. It will fire mostly with the cable on the X Synch with the 121 BC.
It might seem a cut connection on the top plate, but why the erratic behavior with the cable? Where should I look?

There are three wires which attach to the flash shoe, a ground wire, hot flash wire, and a wire for the AE flash. The hot flash and sync socket are connected with a brown wire, I think the AE wire is blue. The three wires are soldered to a small PCB, and this is where they usually have problems. Check the connections here, and re-solder them if necessary. Often these wires get brittle or weakened when the top cover is removed for cleaning.

Hi Frontman: I felt that the batteries moved inside the battery compartment too freely so I decided to pull the tin tab inside to make them fit more snug. The tin tab came apart and I glued it again and this apparently corrected the issue with the hot shoe. So I wonder that if the battery contact was iffy, how did the pictures turned out, we'll see!
