i almost never get anyone who talks back to me but when i do i try to be polite about it. normally i'll get a "excuse me sir? did you just take my picture? can you delete it?" and then i do and everyone is happy. sometimes though i get that one person who wants to scream and threaten me with police.
it happens i guess.

Well if you're shooting film, deleting an image is simply too much to ask. You digital shooters shouldn't give in and delete a photo either. It's absurd, and it only encourages the morons in thinking they have a right to demand it of you.

Hence why he got off easy, I'm in Calgary!
Haven't had anybody upset with me yet (In Calgary).... Doesn't mean there won't be a first time I guess.
Happy shooting.
Joe, keep shooting. Don't let it deter you (not that I'm insensitive to such things).... Btw, the 100 yr anniversary of the Stampede is in a few days so come down and give that trigger finger more of a workout.

Thanks Dave. Great looking hats but apparently no stores in the US. I hate ordering a hat without trying it on. I'll have to find a cheap knockoff.

What if one of those "morons" takes out a big sign with the text "Beware folks. This photographer will stick a camera in your face, take ugly photos of you and posts them on the internet". He follows you with this sign for the rest of the day through the city. I bet this is absolutely legal in most countries and he is even telling the truth (except the "ugly" of course").
What would you do? Of course you wouldn't complain because that's what you expect from others too, right?
You are absolutely correct. I'd let him, so long as he doesn't attempt to harm me. He would just look the fool anyway.
Did you think I'd object to that considering my attitude about taking pictures?
