the title says it all!
i finally won an auction on a canon 35/3.5 lens.
it's in user condition with very clean glass (so advertised anyway) and comes with finder and case and all for 130 bucks!!

it's not the 50/1.5 but it's a 35 and that's what really gets my heart pumping!

Joe, you are going to make me cry. The Canon 7 that I am selling USED to have the 50mm F1.5 on it. $525 is a good price for a Vt and F1.5 lens. My LTM Canon is sitting in a Nikkor Bubble now, pining away for a body. The Jupiter-3 invasion has taken over the Canons.

So you broke down and drained the war chest for another 35! Congratulations. We need a comprehensive test on all of them!

you mean you have a canon 50/1.5 just sitting in a plastic bubble?
now i'm gonna cry!!

sell another canon 7 and then you'll realize you have absolutely no place for the 1.5.
if you trade me for the 1.4 i'll send it with the mint hood & leather case...

joe

btw, with the 50/1.5 i'm done! i will have all the lenses i plan on getting.
no, really...

frank, for some strange reason, i do not want the 3.2 and bill, i have a 1.8 already.

joe

Oh, never mind then. I've run out of things to tease/tempt you with. Boring!

You need new lust, bub.

Hello:

If you do not get one then I may have to in order to compare it to a 35mm f2.8. It is so elegant in construction relative to a late B&W. You cannot be persuaded?

Frank

the 3.2 is very similar in design to the 2.8.
the 3.5 is different, fewer lens elements so i'm thinking it may not be as sharp as the 2.8.

if you have the 2.8 and don't need more speed then you already have a great lens.

NO WAY! Then what would I use the Summarit on?

OOOhhhh.... Mint..... I like Mint.

Should we start a pool on what Joe's next lens will be?

I wonder if Brian could help me find a clean J3 that is adjusted. It would be a way out from getting a Canon 50/1.5. I see many J3 lenses for sale, but I wonder if they have the "Brian Touch" on them.

Tessar like?

Tessar like?

Hello:

I, like you, assume it to be a precusor to the F2.8. I'm not in need of the lens per se but wonder how it compares to the B&W. It also has that older ltm form factor!

The F3.5 is likely the direct competitor (copy) of the 35mm Elmar- it would be nice to compare images from good examples of each.

enjoy your purchase(s).
Frank

i hope to set something up for a comparison of mine. i also have a 35/2.8 black & chrome on loan and i will include that.
