new toys
The joys of new Toys.
As a Kid I believed my new sneakers would make me run faster and jump higher. Those were the days. Because of perception I could poke fun at the Kids in cheaper sneakers, as they out ran me and jumped higher. With my new kicks I had nothing to prove while they exerted themselves to outperform me.
Branding (is that what it is called nowadays?) is a powerful thing.

on the other hand, why give away a camera for promotion, when the camera is sold out and no longer in production?
Brand value.
(Not that I believe M9Ti 500/500 was given away as promotion, but that's still the right answer...)

Leica make those limited special editions to make money. They are not going to give one away. They don't need to.
Kudos to Seal for buying it and using it instead of sticking it in a cupboard for 20 years.

Is it just me, or does the M9T look kind of plain? The lines are just too smooth and it looks too rounded. It's really noticeable when it's posed next to the M7 in that picture.
Don't get me wrong though, I wouldn't turn one down!

I don't know the guy, but from based on how he presents himself in public I rather like him. He certainly has musical talent, which doesn't preclude other artistic talents.

not having talent, money, or looks, i can only say seal seems a fortunate fellow who's successful in a brutal business and enjoys an enviable marriage and family life. i like his taste in gear, too.

....I have talent, money & looks, but unfortunately no singing career....
**obviously some sarcasm to my statement above!**
That Ti is growing on me the more I see it. Initially I thought it was something straight out of Star Trek/Starship Troopers, but yeah... it's growing on me.
