Yet another 85/1.5, very strange serial #

This is a head scratcher, serial # 10230 which should be a Serenar. Could there have been some black and chrome models made that early? Possibly miss-engraved and should have been 11230 is the only explanation I can think of, perhaps made on a Monday?!

Or maybe a trim-ring from a different lens.

HI Jim,

"Another spanner in the works" as the saying goes!
This lens has all the attributes of a T3, EXCEPT the serial #.
Why an early serial number on a T3 beats me.
The only thing I would have a guess at is that it is a stamped-in-error number and instead of "1"they hit it with a "0'?
Cannot see any other reason.

Thanks Peter, that seems to be the only explanation. I'm not willing to take the risk that the haze will be completely removable on some of these older lenses, it sold about where one would expect.
