Yet another "New R-D1 Owner" thread ;)

I received my R-D1 (with upgraded firmware) from Germany today. I didn't have much time to play around with it yet, just slapped on my CV Nokton 1.4/40 MC and took a picture of the nearest willing subject (my oldest boy who's quite used to be photographed. With the R-D1, at least I'm again able to show him the picture immediately after taking it - he's always a bit surprised when I can't do that with my Bessas 🙂)

Here is the result with minimal tweaking: 800 ISO, simply out of camera jpeg, no change in Film style or any other setting whatsoever...

And now the exploration proper can begin...

Congratulations, Marc. The RD-1 is an incredible camera. I first used my RD-1 with the Nokton 40mm too. A very useable combination. Very nice image of your son. My son is also very familar with being the "handy" test subject.
When you can, try RAW with the RD-1. You'll find yet another layer of the RD-1 you'll come to appreciate. Good luck.

Pictures from its first day out...

I took my new toy with me today, and these are some of the first pictures I took this morning on my way to work. The CV Nokton 40/1.4 MC again, simply B&W jpeg straight from the camera. I'll sure explore RAW in depth later, but first I want to get use to the feel and operation of the camera, and until now I really like it...

Great shots. You'll definitely have much fun with your camera. I've got my R-D1s for a week now. It really feels great and the quality is astonishing.
