Okay folks,
so some of you may know that my latest purchase of a Canonet GII QL17 is in need of new light seals. No problem as I am fairly confident I can replace those myself with Jon Goodman's kit.

Okay, so now I notice that there might be a "problem" with my light meter. I didn't notice this before because I was going manual (a first for me! Yea!) following sunny 16. So anyway today I pull her out just to mess around, and on the "A" function I notice that the meter was not "working" in full sunlight, asa 400, on any shutter speed. Is it me that's not understanding something fundamental or perhaps the camera?

All my other cameras easily let me fire on auto mode in the same lighting. I suppose it's no big deal if the light meter is shot since it has nothing to do with the manual functions, right? This just might mean that this camera should be my manual one....

thanks for the time!
